John Dettor, a local diver, marine archaeologist, explorer and historian with an agenda of his own, invites the students to pursue the pirate’s booty with him “under the guise of a scientific survey,” and soon they are racing against ruthless treasure hunters to discover the buried riches of the notorious 18th century pirate, Benjamin Hornigold.
